      This is almost exactly the same weapon as the MP5/10A2 except for being chambered for the .40 Smith & Wesson round rather than the 10mm Automatic.

There are also A4 versions of these weapons with two or three-round controlled burst trigger packs. The bolt catch of the MP5/10 and MP5/40 weapons prevents the trigger packs from beings exchanged with those from the MP5 series. Though the MP5 series may use trigger packs from the MP5/10 and 40, the reverse is not true.
