This is a Romanian variation of the Soviet Stechkin machine pistol. The caliber has been changed from the original 9x18mm Makarov to the much more popular, and powerful, 9x19mm round. The changes in the weapon are minimal, the entire trigger assembly and 80% of the parts will directly interchange with the original Stechkin. One of the obvious external changes is that there is no provision on the back of the pistol grip to accept a shoulder stock. Instead of a stock, there is an attachment point underneath the receiver, just below the muzzle, for a spare magazine. The magazine is inserted into the attachment point by the base and is angled forward. This angle and secure attachment make the spare magazine act as a front handhold for the non-firing hand, giving the operator a very solid two-handed grip.
