SERVICE – Limited commercial sales, special operations forces and law enforcement

     A cooperative effort between Colt and the Knight Manufacturing Company, the Knight Suppressed Colt 9mm has an integral suppressor covered by the extended hand guard at the front of the weapon. The short barrel of the weapon is ported to allow a quantity of the propellant gases to vent into the suppressor, lowing the velocity of standard 9mm NATO ammunition to below the speed of sound. This lowing of the muzzle velocity of the projectile helps eliminate the sonic crack of launching a supersonic bullet. It also allows the Knight Suppressed 9mm to use standard 9mm NATO ammunition and still have maximum sound suppression without requiring special ammunition.
